      Understand how your own conduct as a leader affects the motivation of those around you.

    • Needs and Motivation

      Apply Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to understand what drives people at work.

    • Herzberg's Motivation-Hygiene Theory

      Separate the factors that genuinely motivate from those that merely prevent dissatisfaction.

    • Six Key Motivators

      Explore achievement, recognition, possibility of growth, advancement, responsibility and the work itself.

    • Applying the Motivators as a Manager

      Practical ways to provide each of the six motivators within your own team.

    • Adair's Eight Rules for Motivating People

      Apply John Adair’s eight rules to everyday leadership situations.

    • Action Planning and Follow-Up

      Build a personal plan for motivating your team and sustaining it after the course.
